Intel Launches Dual Core Celeron Mobile CPUs

Intel has launched the T1600 and T1700, the first dual core Celeron laptop processors.

“They are both 65nm parts with 1MB L2 cache, 667MHz FSB and TDP of 35W. The T1600 costs $80 from Intel and has a clock of 1.66GHz, the 1.83GHz T1700 costs $86,” Nexus reports. Intel’s notebook CPU lineup also includes the dual core Mobile Celeron 723.

The 45nm chip is clocked at 1.2GHz and features an 800MHz FSB and TDP of only 10W. We do not have info on pricing for the Celeron 723 at the time of this writing.

In addition, we have found the Intel Celeron T1400 dual core at 1.73GHz in the Extensa 4220-2346 and Aspire AS5315-2721 laptops by Acer. The new CPUs support 64-bit operating systems and software.
