Fujitsu LifeBook U820 5.6″ Convertible with GPS Launched


Fujitsu launched today the LifeBook U820 Mini Notebook, featuring a 5.6-inch touch-screen display, Intel Atom processor, and built-in GPS.

Starting at 1.32 pounds, the convertible laptop comes with the Atom Z530 CPU at 1.6GHz, 1GB of DDR2 memory, 60GB hard drive, 120GB HDD, or 64GB solid state drive, and Intel’s integrated graphics. The display has a resolution of 1280×800 pixels and features passive touch-screen technology.

Along with the GPS receiver and Garmin Mobile PC software, Fujitsu LifeBook U820 includes a 1.3-megapixel web camera, fingerprint reader, 802.11a/b/g/n wireless connection, Ethernet LAN, and optional Bluetooth, as well as one USB port, and Secure Digital and Compact Flash slots.

When compared to the previous LifeBook U810 series, the 820 provides improved QWERTY keyboard with an extra set of rows for more comfortable typing and a zoom utility for easier viewing.

Fujitsu says that the new mini laptop has a battery life of up to 3 hours and 30 minutes with a standard 2-cell battery or up to 7 hours and 30 minutes with a 4-cell unit.

The U820 runs Windows Vista operating system and has a starting price of $1,049 ($999 after $50 mail-in rebate).
